Tim Mowl

Timothy Mowl
Tim Mowl has had two parallel professional careers, one as an academic in the fields of art and architectural history and garden and landscape design, the other as an architectural consultant. He is Emeritus Professor of History of Architecture & Designed Landscapes at the University of Bristol and the author of over thirty books on subjects as wide ranging as Elizabethan architecture and twentieth-century aesthetics.

He combines a sure grasp of the scholarly research required for architectural consultancy with a sound knowledge of conservation issues. He is also is well informed about garden and landscape design as it is affected by the planning process, having completed 14 books in a nationwide series on the historic gardens of England. Tim has just finished writing his study of Hampshire, which will be published in May.
